Blade II: Bloodhunt
By Popcorn Avenger

Every so often, there are sequels that come along better than the original: Star Trek II, The Empire Strikes Back, T2, Batman Returns. And now we can add Blade II: Bloodhunt to this distinguished list. In his second outing as the feared vampire hunter/daywalker, Wesley Snipes is once again the cool, slick character we enjoyed in the first film. In this installment, Blade is forced to aide his mortal enemies, the vampires, in hunting a new common threat. He is joined by a commando group of vampires, called the Bloodpack, trained initially to do away with Blade. Of this group, Ron Perlman as Reinhardt outshines his collegues and in some instances steals the show. Blade II: Bloodhunt wastes little time undoing one of its predecessor’s mistakes by bringing back Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). This is the franchise that launched Marvel Comics movie domination, and when you see Blade II: Bloodhunt, you’ll understand why.
