The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowsip of the Ring
By Popcorn Avenger

For a truly breathtaking cinematic experience, go to see The Fellowship of the Ring, the first in The Lord of the Rings films. The scope and vision of this film rightly desrve the label spectacle. This is a filmmaking achievement at its best. Director Peter Jackson has seamlessly and effortlessly woven the live action beauty and mystery of New Zealand with the computer generated effects of most large sci-fi/fantasy blockbusters of today. The cinematic vision of this film deserves nothing less than the label of beautiful.

The narrative follows an unlikely hero, Frodo Baggins (played to perfection by former child star Elijah Wood), as he journeys to return a ring that holds unspeakable evils to its place of origin to destroy it. Eight others who form the fellowship of the ring, from which this installment gets its title, join him. While the film might leave many wanting more, remember that this is a trilogy. Particularly effective are Viggo Mortensen and Sean Astin, who play Stryder and Samwise Gamgee. If you want to behold true fantasy and beauty, catch this first installment of The Lord of the Rings
