Okay, I must admit that while the prospect of seeing a tv show based on the day to day life of rockabilly musician Chris Isaak does not seem too promising, The Chris Isaak Show is one of the more entertaining shows on television. It would seem that the velvet voiced crooner is frought with self-doubt and neurosis. On top of this he is backed by a band fasinated with everything from mystery films to womanizing. Isaak does a fine job portraying his character's quirks and insecurities, and what we get is a well rounded entertainer who is not suited for the stardom he has achieved. The Chris Isaak Show is a gem that is lost among such critical cable darlings as The Sopranos and Sex in the City. Hopefully in its second season , it will gain more deserved recognition..
