By Popcorn Avenger Eddie Murphy for a second consecutive summer has a hit movie that is a sequal inspired by a classic movie. Unlike 2000’s Nutty Professor 2: The Clumps, Dr. Doolittle 2 is as enjoyable as its predecessor. The plot of Dolittle centers around our hero working to reintegrate a North Pacific Brown Bear into the wild to save a forest which is in danger of being cleat cut. Like the first film, this features such actors as Norm MacDonald, Lisa Kudrow, and Steve Zahn as varying animals. Dr. Dolittle 2 is one of those rare sequels that outdoes the original. While the first film was enjoyable, this film has more meat on its bones, so to speak. The DVD does not really highlight any special features (although it does have behind the scenes featurette and a couple of extended scenes, which now seem standard on new DVD’s), it is worth viewing in its full widescreen dimensions.
