Bush - Golden State

Bush has not changed their sound in at least five years. I have listen to them all that time. But their latest album, “ Golden State”, was no different. I think as a Bush fan I am simply tired of them. They are played out. Gavin sings about love and how it sucks! These lyrics could be a reflection of his real life love story with No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani. But it sounds like there past three albums. The first single, “ The People That We Love”, is awesome but it is just about the only good thing off this album. I honestly suspect that the band changed the name of that song from “ Speed Kills” not because of the 9/11 tragedy, but rather a cheap marketing angle. Bush fans won’t be too disappointed because it is more of the same, but it really shows how little the band has grown. Gavin should have learned from Gwen that change is good for a band. “ Golden State” is worthy of a 6 out of 10. |
