All hail the heavy metal gods FOZZY! What you have never heard of Fozzy? That is because they are the pet project of professional wrestler, Chris Jericho, and the cult backed Stuck Mojo. FOZZY is an eighties "hair band" cover band. In the nature of Spinal Tap, these hard rockers are all alter egos from their regular personas. Moongoose McQueen a.k.a. Chris Jericho is the lead vocalist and to my surprise can really wail. On their self-titled album, FOZZY, the band covers metal greats like Motley Crue, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy, and Motorhead. On many of the songs, Moongoose's voice bares uncanny resemblance to the greats being covered. Moreover, the band FOZZY has a hilarious background story. This album is a fun treat for all metal fans. Lastly, it is great to see an homage to metal. If this is a sign of things to come, Wal-Mart better order extra hair spray because the hair bands are back and they are ready to ROCK! FOZZY is worthy of a 9 out of 10.
