John Mellencamp - Cuttin' Heads

John Mellencamp has been around as long as dirt and he gets better with age like a fine wine. Mellencamps latest album “Cuttin’ Heads” is poetry for the soul. It is a blend of rock, blues, and rap. Mellencamp gets help from rap legend Chuck D and country singer, Trish Yearwood. Mellencamp’s first single is getting very little exposure but it truly is a hidden delight. Any rock fan of yester year will appreciate a throw back to traditional rock and applaud John Mellencamp for staying with the times. Mellencamp unlike many rockers of today know how to utilize the musical medium. Mellencamp’s hobby of painting really helps him because he literally produces a gallery quality piece with this one. Sadly, his songs are short and leave a listener unfulfilled. “Cuttin’ Heads” is worthy of a 8 out of 10. |
