Stone Temple Pilots -
Shanrgi-La Dee Da

By Logan Legacy

Sadly, Stone Temple Pilots are, for the most part, a dying breed, and on Shanrgi-La Dee Da the band is still working the same tried and true formula. They are trying to climb out of the post grudge movemtent. As with No. 4, it's all stuff we have heard before, and to no surprise the best track being, of course, the first single "Days Of The Week." If you liked them before you'll still like them now. Like other rock legends, STP's "sober" work is not quite as good as their previous work. A round of applause has to be given to bassist Robert Deleo for managing to keep things somewhat interesting and together. Likewise a shout out to Scott Weiland's vocals, they are as always awesome. STP, like Pearl Jam, are fighters. They still stick around in a world of music that is trying to forget them. You've heard it all before and if you liked it then Shangri-La Dee Da is a sure shot for your collection. I am personally a Stone Temple Pilots fan, and I feel the latest album is worthy of a 7 out of 10.
