Congratulations Kurt Angle!!! You’re Fat Sacs INC.’s F*ckin Wrestler of the Year (so far)!
By Logan Legacy

In a rather pathetic year for the world of wrestling, one may have a difficult time picking out someone memorable. With an injury list as long as a child’s Christmas list and the demise of the WWF opposition, it took some great thought. But, I have picked out the savior of sports entertainment- Oh It’s True, It’s Damn True!!! The year of 2001 thus far has really given our Olympic Hero, Kurt Angle, a chance to kick the sophomore blues. This year started off with Angle ending his extremely drawn out feud with The Game, HHH and then the year moved on with a short visit by his brother, Eric. Kurt then found himself locking up with the Canadian Crippler, Chris Benoit. They produced great matches but the feud lacked “flair”. Overall, Angle was having a decent year. That all changed with the King Of The Ring. Wrestling legend, Mick Foley believes all wrestlers will have one match that will immortalize them forever.

The night of the King of the Ring was Angle’s night. First of all, Kurt Angle was determined to defend his title of King in the King of the Ring tournament. If that was not enough, he was also slated to take on WCW owner, Shane McMahon, in an “anything goes street- fight”. Sadly, the tournament resulted in a loss due to Shane’ O’ Mac. But the brawl with Shane was simply amazing. That match went the distance. Both men looked like a pill of junk after a horrific accident. Luckily, Angle came out victorious. Both combatants received a standing ovation. The year was positively looking up for the Olympic Gold medallists. Following that, he was then paired with the Texas rattlesnake, Steve Austin. The two produced some of the most hilarious skits in the history of the show. They were the wrestling world’s answer for Abbot and Costello. Austin’s turning on his beloved WWF left a prime slot open for the Gold Medallists. Kurt viciously taken the reigns of leadership and single handedly started a movement against the WCW/ECW alliance. Just last week, he striped to WCW champion, Booker T of his title. This was a massive “thumbs up” for Kurt. Unfortunately, he lost the belt on the following show. But, he truly is a man of the show- Oh it’s true, it’s true! The rest of the year should be very unforgettable for the viewers and Kurt Angle, himself. He has defeated all the big names in the business, in his rather short career. Quite frankly, he can now borrow a catch line from a currently unemployed WCW star, “ Who’s Next?”
