SummerSlam 2001
By Logan Legacy

Leave it to the WWF to turn an otherwise crappy PPV on paper, it a grand event that measures with the best of them. Last night, I was in attendance at the WWF SummerSlam PPV. I went into this show wanting to hate it, as you read in a previous commentary. The show in short ROCKED! The openning bout pit Edge vs. Lance Strom for the IC title. This match was action packed. One could not tell who was going to win. The audience really got into it. Finally, the 2001 King of the Ring, Edge provailed. This match set up the mood of the night. There was going to be some real action here! The Jericho/Rhyno match was good with the exception of a couple of mistakes. But the ladder hardcore title match was awesome! This was a like a grand play were RVD and Jeff Hardy used the ring as their stage. Shakespeare never looked this Extreme!! The steel cage tag title match was very confusing. I swear there is no set of rules for steel cage matches anymore. This was a nightmare. DDPs partner exited midway and left the master of the Diamond Cutter to the big dogs. This was a pathetic display for Deadman Inc. It took two men to keep the King of Batta-Bing down. The only good to come out of this crap is hopefully closure to the Sara/DDP angle.

The two main events ruled. The Angle/ Austin match was nothing short of a classic Marvel comic battle of Captain America vs. Red Skull. This match really got Angle over as the new force and leadership of the WWF. But the final main event of the evening was "Electrifying"! Whether you love or hate the Brahuma Bull, one has to give him is dues. He got the audience really involved. The "Bookerman" is a great nemisis for the Rock. They put on a good semi-clean match. The victor, the Rock, well deserved to win. This match demonstrated to skills of both men. Booker T is truly a main-eventer. And the Rock did not suffer an ounce of "ring rust". For more results to the PPV email me or check out www.wrestleboard.com . I am proud to take back the " Summer Crap" commentary. The WWF really proved to me they still got it!
