It’s Time to Start the Healing- Oh It’s True, It’s Damn True!!!
By Logan Legacy

In the aftermath of this week’s devastating tragedies, our country is finding it hard to get back on its feet. The United States was hit hard and fast. Sadly, we still have no face for the enemy and the death count continues to grow by the minute. But, life is slowly coming back to normal for the U.S. people. Tonight the healing process began with the world of sports entertainment. The World Wrestling Federation took the first steps to returning of otherwise shaken up lives to normal. In the world of the critically stereotyped “mindless muscle heads”, the healing process started.

Just three nights after the nightmare, the World Wrestling Federation decided to allow their Thursday night live show to go on. The WWF did a great job boosting the American’s people morale. Even for just two hours, the WWF got our minds off the disaster. This special edition of Smackdown consisted of a mixture of wrestling matches and candid one on one interviews with the superstars. The interviews were very special. The stars broke character to share their feelings. These are great tools to help us understand and react to our current rush of emotions. Wrestlers are looked up to by all ages. By simply seeing the wrestlers entertaining us, we can learn and grow from them.

Sadly, critics will comment on this show without even viewing it. There will be people that believe the WWF owner, Vincent McMahon, is a disgrace to allow his show to go on. But this special WWF broadcast was the first national gathering after the horrific ordeal. The arena had 13,000 in attendance and probably millions watching at home. Despite what people think, Mr. McMahon brought us together as one nation. Smackdown will not be mentioned on the eleven o clock news or it won’t even be in the morning papers. Furthermore, this little broadcast will be forgotten about.

We, the fans of sports entertainment, are very appreciative and grateful that the healing process has began for us sooner rather than later.
