Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
By Popcorn Avenger

Finally a summer film that lives up to the pre-release hype… this is probably because unlike every other summer release Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back used minimum hype to promote the picture. First of all let me mention that the members of Fat Sacs Inc. unanimously and enthusiastically give this film high marks. On the surface, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a road film… no it’s an action film… no wait, it’s a romance film… well, now that I think of it, it is all of this and more. Kevin Smith rounds up many of the more popular and well-known characters from his collection of films to give our heroes their cinematic send-off… and he does this in a way that is fitting and faithful to their original characterizations. In addition to this, Smith has made a film that successfully sends up Hollywood (better than recent attempts, such as Scary Movie), his films and our own cherished domain, the Internet. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back also introduces several new and fun characters (specifically Will Farrell and Judd Nelson). The biggest problem with this film is that some might not (and this would be from those who are unfamiliar with the View Askew universe) appreciate all of the in-jokes. Note to those filmgoers: this is a film that is a follow-up to all previous Kevin Smith films (however, this film is worth going out and renting all previous Kevin Smith films). Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a film that gives View Askew fans what they want, a fitting closure to a collection of films that include Jay and Silent Bob. you.
